German Bee Monitoring
The co-operative project DEBIMO - DEutsches BIenenMOnitoring (German Bee Monitoring) currently comprises over 100 beekeepers country-wide. They give information on their apicultural practices that are representative of beekeepers nationally and also provide the project with up-to-the-minute data on the overwintering dynamics of their colonies as well as bee, honey and pollen samples for disease and residue analysis. Collaborating bee institutes provide scientific support and lead the statistical evaluation of the data.
Monitoring Hives 
| Project Implementation Initial co-financing by the registered agrarian trade association has expired, and DEBIMO bee monitoring now continues through newly established project sponsorship from the Federal Institute for Agriculture and Food (BLE) and with financial participation of the Federal Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV). The BLE fulfills above all tasks associated with the administration and technical support of the project as well as with the management of the assigned federal funds. |
